Secor Metropark in Ohio

Located in the Oak Openings region of Ohio, Secor Metropark is a regional park in Sylvania and Richfield Townships. It is owned by Metroparks Toledo.

Wolfinger Cemetery

Located in Richfield Township, Ohio, the Wolfinger Cemetery has all the traditional offerings: tombstone inscriptions, a dedicated cross-country ski trail, large picnic areas, and indoor meeting rooms. Aside from its location in the metropark, it has the honor of being the only cemetery in the area to be active. The Toledo Ohio Ghost Hunters Society recently investigated the site, and they reportedly found what they believe to be the ghost of a young woman who died in a fire.

The Wolfinger Cemetery is also a great place to see wildlife, especially during a fall migration. There are a few food plots scattered around, and there are some limestone barrens to be seen as well. Swan Creek is one of the best spots to view birds and other wildlife. It is the home of the Secor Wildlife Area, a former private hunting club that coordinates pheasant releases with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

The Sylvania Veterans Day parade starts off in downtown and ends at the Wolfinger Cemetery in Secor Metropark. There is also a ceremony at the historic Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo and the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Marygrove.
